| Description | Bridger Artists is pleased to announce the commission of a tribute to the Lewis & Clark expedition to be undertaken by "Confluence: A Duet of Words and Music." Sponsored by the Myrna Loy Center for the Arts, and funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the U.S. Forest Service, "We Proceeded On" is scheduled to premier during the summer of 2005. "We Proceeded On" highlights a medley of underappreciated facets of the Corps of Discovery. Each "scene" will view poignant, sometimes humorous, and little-visited moments featuring behind-the-scenes perspectives. This unique composition will weave together landscape images, tidbits of expedition minutia, and points of view from a variety of participants, including Sacagawea, York, Lewis's dog, and Floyd. Audiences will experience a variety of emotional topography, from humor to introspection, and from poignant historical moments to powerful evocations of landscape. | |||
| History of Performer(s) | The Confluence Duet features classical guitarist Stuart Weber and author Alan Kesselheim. These two artists, each successful in their separate careers, have combined their talents and voices in an unparalleled exploration on the frontier of performance art. Their collaboration, blending the timeless forms of story and stringed-instrument, has been winning audiences across North America, while gathering momentum and acclaim. Confluence will release their first CD during the summer of '04, and has been recently featured on an hour-long tribute produced by Montana Public Television. |
