Southwest Montana Lewis & Clark
Present: Cameron Clark, Jim Boetticher, Katie Bump, Kit Mather, Judie Tilman, Kay Jacobson, Judy Siring, Debra Bradley, Wally Madsen, Diane Havig and Joan Peterson.
Cameron Clark called the meeting to order at 11:10 A.M. Minutes from the April 4, 2002 meeting were approved as sent.

May 6, 2002
Passports: Deb Bradley reported that the Passports are at the printers and should be ready before Memorial Day. Deb presented the invoice from Becky Bachofner for her commission for selling ads for the Passport. Motion was made to approved and seconded to approve payment of the invoice. Motion passed.
Corps II Application: Katie has been compiling all the information on the main and secondary sites in Dillon and also the Twin Bridges site. She still needs some information and pictures for Twin. She has also put together a power point presentation on the area and the sites. The application package is due to the State Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Office by June 1. Judy Siring commended Katie for all her hard work. The Committee as a whole added its appreciation for all of her help with the application.
Lewis & Clark Bicentennial License Plate: Judie reported that the Committee will receive the commemorative plate L&C 5. We can use it as a fundraiser or give as an award. Discussion ensued and the group agreed that they wanted to use it to raise funds for the Committee. A raffle was decided upon. Judy Siring volunteered to have raffle tickets printed. The tickets will cost $5/each. The drawing will be August 1, 2002. The winner will receive the commemorative plate plus the $30 cost of the specialty plate fee which (s)he will have the right to purchase. Judy will get tickets out to the Committee members. Judie Tilman will inform the State L&C Bicentennial office of our decision.
Madison County: Deb Bradley reported on the progress in getting the bronze for the L&C Interpretive Island at the Fairgrounds in Twin Bridges. Miniatures are being cast and will be sold for $2,500/ea to help raise funds for the large bronze. They may also hold a raffle and other fundraising events.
Beaverhead County: Judy Siring reported that plans are moving forward for the Reenactment and Lewis & Clark Days. Diane, Kay, and Joan discussed events that will take place in the Wisdom-Jackson area this summer. Of particular interest is the gun show.
Jefferson County: Wally gave an update on the work at the outdoor theatre and reminded us that the first show will be June 28 with shows on weekends throughout July. There have been many improvements to the site and to the play itself.
Kit noted that Whitehall would soon have a major billboard with an emphasis on Lewis & Clark.
The next meeting date was set for July 8th in Dillon; time and place to be determined.
Meeting was adjourned at approximately 1:00 PM. Those who could went on the tour of the Jackson Hot Springs.
