Lewis & Clark Trail Bicentennial Commission of L&C County Meeting Minutes
December 14, 2004
A special meeting of the Lewis and Clark Trail Bicentennial Commission of Lewis & Clark County, December 14, 2004, Chamber of Commerce Building.
In attendance: Commission – Marvin Holtz, Jack Taylor, Mary Lou Garrett, Sharon Haugen, Mike Griffith, Barbara Fifer, Dick Alberts and Rita Blouke. (We also had proxy votes from Mark Peck and Mandy Alvino.) Associate member - Amy Teegarden; Guests - Paul Putz and Keith Hatch. A quorum was present.
The president called the meeting to order. Mary Lou, Amy, and Dick explained the need for a vote of the Commission to authorize expenditure of money for Corps II planning and sponsorship solicitation. They would like to have this completed before the January 19 meeting. They would like to initially print 500 of the solicitation flyers and need mailing expenses to cover their distribution, and they believe the logo production will cost about $250. Amy has secured a FS grant for $5000 and these costs are covered under the planning section. We can get an advance from the grant to cover expected expenditures for up to 30 days. After discussion and several friendly amendments, there was a motion by Sharon, seconded by Mary Lou, to approve expenditure of up to $1200 - as appropriated under the Forest Service Planning Grant - by “The Gathering” Committee for the fundraising flyer and for marketing costs. Motion passed.
The next meeting will be January 19. Meeting adjourned.
