These are available for distribution; a letter from the State Commission about plans for a July 21 awards luncheon in conjunction with the Billings Commission meeting (The Commission asked Rita to put together a list of all present and former Commission members and associates for certificates.); a card from the GOTM Chapter with upcoming events; we sent out three grants - the state commission, The Jerry Metcalf Foundation and Challenge Share Cost Grant. We received a letter of regrets from the Metcalf Foundation and a letter of congratulations from Challenge Share Cost Grant for $10,000.
The Treasurer’s Report was delayed awaiting Mike’s arrival.
GN Project: The icon issue has been resolved.
Signage: Marv reported that RTR was looking to relocate the Spite Hill sign and to put it on a metal stand when they put in their signage. Rita will contact Geoff to see how the other two drafts are coming. Dal reported that the list Dick put together was a duplicate so he is holding on to it.
Lincoln: Rita passed around the tentative schedule for Corps II presentations that Sara had given her for the grant application. There was also an email about funding and the proposed logo for the gathering in Lincoln. March 21 there was a planning meeting where marketing was to be discussed. Lillian will put the program schedule on the C of C site when it is finalized. We received a check for $200 from Northwest Energy.
Brochures: Dick will work on the brochure distribution plan to get the brochures out of my basement. There are about 24 boxes left. There was discussion of Traveler’s Rest and Great Falls. Dal will do Townsend, Three Forks, West Yellowstone and Bozeman.
Grants: We still are looking at grants if anyone has a possibility.
Morgan Prints: Dal reported for the Print Committee. Jack, Don, Dal and Rita met and reviewed all the prints. There are 35 prints currently saleable. There are 16 prints that are damaged and need to be destroyed. There are 25 signed, unnumbered prints that can replace the 16 destroyed prints. There are 75 unsigned and unnumbered prints that we believe should be destroyed. There was a motion by Sharon, seconded by Mary Lou, to destroy the 16 damaged prints. Motion passed. There was a motion by Sharon, seconded by Mary Lou, to use 16 of the signed, unnumbered prints and number with the numbers of the ones we destroy. We will hold on to the 9 remaining signed, unnumbered prints in case something happens to others as we attempt to sell them. Motion passed. There was a motion by Sharon, seconded by Mary Lou to destroy the 75 unsigned and unnumbered prints. Motion passed. The committee had discussed buying protectors for the remaining 51 prints. Dal will look into purchasing them.
Mike passed out copies of the balance sheet as of 4/19/06. He reported that we have cash on hand of $12,281.24 with $9790.00 encumbered. We received a check for $200 from Northwestern Energy for Corps II Lincoln and a “thank you” has been sent. There were some questions about the Lincoln budget and whether it would be covered. Mike did not attend the last meeting but thought it was mostly covered by the Park Service and the Forest Service. There was a motion by Sharon, seconded by Lillian, to accept the financial report. Motion passed. There was discussion of how to proceed with the G. N. project now that we have the grant. Dick and Rita will get together with the other committee members to do some initial discussion.
Mike also passed out copies of the tentative schedule for the Buffalo Road weekend activities that are scheduled from June 30-July 2 in Lincoln outside of the Corps II activities. There was much discussion about the planned activities.
Jack said there was a nice pin available in Ovando titled “Lewis Without Clark”.
Dal announced that the next GOTM Chapter meeting would be Monday at the Library. The program will be Jim Keyser talking about pictographs and petroglyphs. July 19 will be the GOTM fundraising boat trip with Vince Yannon.
